An extremely unconventional 1981 Mercedes-Benz 380SL Roadster will be sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Las Vegas. The car was modified at the American atelier Niko-Michael Coachworks for singer Wayne Newton and it looks very original.

In fact, the only thing that indicates it’s a Mercedes is the three-pointed star on the nose. Almost all the body parts of the roadster have been replaced and it looks very strange. Particularly eye-catching is the spare tire on the trunk lid.
Moreover, the Mercedes 380SL is adorned with gold plating. The roadster has a removable hardtop, but the soft top with electric drive is also retained.

The tuning of the Mercedes-Benz did not touch the mechanics. Under the hood is the stock 3.8-liter V8 with 218 hp, paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The car has only 3200 km of mileage.
