Meet Boaterhome – a hybrid of a motorhome and a boat. And it’s not a crazy garage project of a mad inventor – 21 such camper models were produced back in 1986.
The base was a Ford Econoline van. Its rear part was cut off and the frame was extended. This created a platform for the boat.
The most interesting part is that the boat integrates into the camper and becomes sort of an extension of the living space.
Inside, there is a kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, and microwave, an air conditioner, a bathroom, and sofa-beds. The boat is launched into the water using a winch and a cable. The interior finish is quite luxurious.
The three-axle Boaterhome is 11 meters long, of which 8.5 meters is the boat.
On land, it can reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h, and on water – 64 km/h. A detailed review of the camper is in the video from Barcroft Cars.
