In 2019, Cleetus McFarland conducted a similar test on his C7 Corvette, and the system also provided safe braking.
Traditional handbrakes, unlike electronic ones, can lock the rear wheels without ABS support, making them less effective in emergency situations.
Interestingly, some manufacturers are already considering the possibility of using the electronic parking brake as an additional safety tool. Drivers should remember that even in modern cars, this function is intended for emergency cases, not for daily use. Technologies continue to evolve, and perhaps in the future, we will see even more integration of such systems into the overall safety concept.
