The Verkhovna Rada has once again postponed fines for non-customs cleared cars with Euro plates. The corresponding decision was supported by 285 deputies.
However, while previously delays were given for 3-6 months, now it’s only for 10 days (from December 21 to 31). Indeed, in August, fines were postponed to pass a new law on customs clearance of cars (both new and used) within these three months, but this did not happen.
And we doubt that the situation will change in 10 days. Since the Verkhovna Rada will be on vacation for the New Year holidays, we can assume that from January 1, cars with Euro plates in Ukraine may actually start being fined. Moreover, the fine amount can reach up to 170 thousand hryvnias, and confiscation of the car is also not excluded.
