It seems that the little Ram TRX from Roush sounds angrier than it actually is

Roush Unveils New Upgrade Package for Ram 1500

Just a few weeks after Roush released a mysterious image of an unknown Ram, the tuner, known for its work on Ford products, has introduced its new creation. It is called the Ram Direct Connection by Roush. While the name is not very impressive, the vehicle itself has plenty of interesting features.

Technical Specifications and Price

The basis for the project was a 2027 Ram 1500 Big Horn Crew Cab 4×4 with a 5.7-liter naturally aspirated Hemi V8 engine, producing 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The eTorque system adds another 130 lb-ft of starting torque. The package costs $15,995, and the total price, including the vehicle itself, reaches $78,960.

Off-Road Improvements

For this money, buyers receive a new Roush Performance coilover suspension, designed to improve on-road and off-road performance. Also installed are new 18-inch wheels with 33-inch General Tire Grabber A/TX tires, immediately distinguishing this vehicle from a standard Ram.

Sound and Style

The upgrades include an active cat-back exhaust system with black tips, giving the iconic Hemi V8 a deeper sound. If needed, the driver can close the exhaust valves to make the ride quieter on the highway.

Other updates include aggressive hood vents with graphics, wheel arch extensions with marker lights, a special red RAM emblem on the front grille, exclusive badges, and USA flag graphics on the body sides. Although the vehicle does not look as aggressive as the TRX SRT, it comes close.

Additional Equipment and Warranty

Roush also added a rear axle with a 3.92 gear ratio, an electronic locking differential, an engine skid plate, a trailer brake controller, and an available towing package. Inside, there are exclusive floor mats and badges.

All Roush parts come with a 3-year or 36,000-mile warranty. The company also confirmed it is working on its own supercharger kit for the Ram 1500, promising even more exciting news in the future.

This project shows how Roush, traditionally associated with Ford, is gradually expanding its presence in the tuning market for other brands. The Direct Connection package offers a balanced set of improvements that make the Ram 1500 more capable off-road without turning it into an overly extreme vehicle. It is worth noting that while this Ram resembles a “younger brother” of the TRX, it does not have the same power, but thanks to thoughtful upgrades, it could be an excellent choice for those seeking a balance between comfort and off-road capability. The development of its own supercharger indicates that Roush intends to seriously compete in the high-performance pickup segment.
