Skoda Elroq RS: new affordable and powerful electric vehicle

Skoda showed a teaser of the new Elroq RS ahead of its debut early next month.

The sporty electric crossover features a unique front bumper and stylish wheels.

Inside, there is a flat-bottom steering wheel and seats with embroidered headrests.

Skoda introduced the novelty last fall, and now the company is preparing for the release of the new RS version. To this end, they have released a revealing video that gives us a look at the electric crossover before its debut on April 3rd.

The Elroq RS, which will be presented at Milan Design Week, has undergone a sporty update, as it features a high-gloss black Tech-Deck Face trim as well as a unique front bumper. The latter has a sporty central intake with painted triangular accents. It is complemented by horizontal black slats that turn into vertical air curtains.

Moving further back, we see new badges on the front fenders and aerodynamically optimized wheels with Mamba Green accents. While the rear end seems unchanged, the black bumper suggests it might also be updated.

The styling changes continue inside, as we see a perforated flat-bottom steering wheel with a vRS emblem. Additionally, there are two-tone front seats with vRS embroidery on the headrests. We can also expect a familiar digital instrument cluster and a standalone infotainment system with a 13-inch display.

The powertrain details remain unknown, but the current Elroq 85 leader features a rear motor that produces 282 hp (210 kW / 286 PS) and 402 lb-ft (545 Nm) of torque. This allows the model to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 6.6 seconds and have a WLTP range of 361 miles (581 km).
