Skoda Manufactured the Longest Tram in the World

Skoda Group has unveiled the longest tram in the world – the ForCity Smart 38T model, which measures 58.69 meters from nose to stern. This is approximately the same as two blue whales, which are considered the largest inhabitants of the planet. The low-floor tram is designed for 368 passengers and features specially equipped spaces for individuals with disabilities.

The production of this large vehicle takes 18 weeks, which is twice as long as for a 30-meter model. The creation of the tram involved the use of 72.4 kilometers of cables. Approximately 20% of the components are supplied from Germany. In total, the apparatus incorporates hundreds of thousands of individual parts from 214 suppliers.
