How Many Cars Were Seized from Drunk Drivers for the Defenders of Ukraine

The threat of losing a car during martial law does not stop lovers of drunk driving. In Ukraine, during the war, 5719 cars have already been confiscated from drunk drivers. They are transferred to the Armed Forces and territorial defense.

This statistic is provided by the first deputy head of the Patrol Police Department Aleksey Beloshitskiy. Just last weekend in Kyiv, 27 drunk drivers were detained. Moreover, one caused an accident, and another was offering taxi services. Among the previously detained are also bus and minibus drivers.

Let us remind you that the confiscation of cars from drunk drivers is a new punishment introduced during martial law. The fine for drunk driving and revocation of licenses are not canceled.

“Examples and statistics do not please. The lives we do not allow enemies to destroy are destroyed by their own, drenched in vodka. Often such drivers not only kill themselves but also kill others, cripple people’s lives. I want to emphasize once again that in conditions of war, social responsibility and law-abidingness must be at the highest level. Chaos helps the enemy,” said Aleksey Beloshitskiy.
