Singer keeps the classic 911 alive, while Signature dreams of such a car for all other roads

Signature Autosports unveils the off-road Porsche 911 Meridian

Signature Autosports has decided to offer an alternative to the overly refined and “asphalt-oriented” Porsche 911 from Singer. Their answer is the Meridian 911 model.

This car is created as a modernized version of the classic off-road Porsche 911s of years past. The Meridian 911 features a special suspension that increases ground clearance and significantly improves off-road capability. Along with the new suspension components, off-road tires are installed.

Design and exterior features

Currently, the car exists only in the form of images, which are likely partly created by artificial intelligence. However, the look promises to be impressive. The main exterior changes include new reinforced plastic underbody protection, more massive bumpers, and a large roof rack with four powerful LED off-road lights. On the front, additional hood-mounted lights are also placed, emphasizing the rugged style.

Modern engine and technical equipment

Signature Autosports has not forgotten about the powertrain. Inspiration was drawn from models such as the Porsche 911 Dakar and Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, which revived interest in high-performance off-road vehicles. To avoid being stranded in the desert with an old engine, the company installs a modern 3.8-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine. It is equipped with Pauter connecting rods and cylinder heads, as well as pistons and cylinders from Molly Motorsports. The engine also features custom CNC-ported cylinder heads, sport valve springs with titanium retainers, and machined valve covers. The package includes a carbon fiber engine cover, a carbon fiber intake, and individual throttle bodies.

Custom configurations

According to the company, it will handle all stages of creating the Meridian 911: from engine engineering to metalworking, installation of custom electrical systems, and interior upholstery. This means that buyers will be offered a multitude of customization options, allowing them to create the off-road 911 of their dreams.

Carscoops has reached out to Signature Autosports to find out when production of the Meridian 911 is planned to begin and what its price will be.

The Meridian 911 project demonstrates how a classic car can be adapted to modern off-road requirements while preserving its DNA. This is not just a restoration but a full-fledged re-engineering using advanced technologies and materials. If the company succeeds in realizing its plan, the Meridian 911 could become a worthy competitor to other extreme off-road vehicles, offering a unique blend of classic style and modern performance. All that remains is to wait for official data on the cost and production timeline to assess the real demand for such a specific product.
