Mysterious new sedan from Nissan: feels like an electric car, but with a gasoline engine

Nissan is preparing a new hybrid model for China

Nissan is expanding its electric vehicle lineup in China, preparing to launch the new N6 hybrid sedan. The car will be produced by the local enterprise Dongfeng, and in the future may enter export markets.

Design differences

Despite its similarity to the N7, the new model has a redesigned lower part of the LED optics, which now blends better with the V-Motion style grille. From the side, a sharper roofline silhouette and different body contours are visible. The rear lights have become simpler, and the bumper more traditional.

“The dimensions of the N6 are 4,831 mm in length, 1,885 mm in width, and 1,491 mm in height, which roughly corresponds to the former Nissan Maxima”

Technical features

The interior remains out of sight for now, but it is expected to inherit many elements from the N7, including a large 15.6-inch multimedia screen. The hybrid setup combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 95 hp with an 87 hp electric motor, giving a total of 208 horsepower.

The model’s launch in China is planned for this year. Considering global trends towards electrification, Nissan may consider exporting the N6 to other regions, including Europe and the Middle East. This could be an important step for the company in a world where demand for hybrids continues to grow, especially in markets with underdeveloped charging infrastructure.
