Maxus T90 EV is exotic for Ukraine. After all, it has just appeared in our market and, moreover, it is completely electric. And most importantly, it is perhaps the only electric pickup that is officially supplied and, accordingly, has a warranty and official service! You can buy the T90 EV for a price of 35,999 euros. Is it worth the money – let’s figure it out together… Starting with the fact that we were the first to test the Maxus electric pickup, for which we thank the official dealer Maxus in Ukraine. The multi-day test drive was impromptu, so without unnecessary clarifications like ‘how does it go, how much fuel it consumes’ we took the car and went out of town in it. After all, where else, if not in rural areas, can you get to know a car of this format as well as possible? The way to the forest-steppe zone lay through the Boryspil highway, where Maxus T90 EV showed itself very decently – for a pickup, good sound insulation, and no dynamic problems. Of course, talking about a pickup. About 10 seconds to a hundred allow you to feel comfortable, and a maximum speed of 120 km/h is quite acceptable, again, considering the class of the car and its electrification. Off the asphalt, we went straight ahead, and we almost ended up in a complete ‘bump’ because we did not clarify (and did not even think about it) with the dealer about the drive of the car. And only when we almost got stuck, we realized that it was rear-wheel drive. Yes, rear-wheel drive, and only rear-wheel drive. However, despite this, the Maxus pickup proved to be quite brave, overcoming such puddles and mud that we definitely wouldn’t have ventured into if we had known about the rear-wheel drive. But luckily, no tractor driver was needed. Not least due to the considerable ground clearance. By the way, on various irregularities, the suspension showed itself comfortable, soft, and quite mushy. Despite the traditional rough rear suspension for pickups, you won’t jump on the back row either, like on a trampoline. In short, a pass. The interior of the Maxus T90 EV left a pleasant impression. The space for passengers on both rows of seats is sufficient for comfortable trips, even during long journeys. The seats proved to be extremely comfortable – with leather upholstery and 6-position adjustment for the driver and front passenger. There is plenty of space for legs as well as overhead. The equipment of the T90 EV is almost at the level of a business-class car. In the center of attention is the 10.3-inch touch screen that allows you to control the multimedia system, which supports Apple CarPlay for convenient smartphone connection to the car. The interface is intuitive and all the necessary functions are always at hand. Fairly high-quality materials are used in the cabin, especially considering that it is a pickup. Maxus T90 EV is well equipped in terms of safety. Among the standard equipment are the electronic stability control system (ESC), a rear-view camera, parking sensors, a camera, etc. The fully electric T90 pickup is equipped with a top-notch 88.55 kWh battery and can travel distances of up to 471 kilometers in the city and 330 km in mixed mode without recharging (according to WLTP cycle), making it suitable for both city trips and intercity travel. And this is despite its load capacity of 1000 kg! Incidentally, in terms of its dimensions, the MAXUS electric pickup is almost 200 mm larger than the Mitsubishi L200 and 40 mm longer than the new Toyota Hilux. Speaking of towing, it is capable of pulling heavy trailers, which adds to its versatility. This means that the car is suitable not only for everyday tasks but also for active recreation or work needs. You can charge the car from a fast charger in 45 minutes (from 20 to 80% at 80 kW), which is convenient for short stops during long journeys. Moreover, an important point is the warranty: the manufacturer provides a 5-year or 100,000 km warranty on the car itself and an 8-year or 200,000 km warranty on the battery. In conclusion, the Maxus T90 EV is a car that combines the ecological nature of an electric vehicle with the functionality of a pickup. Its load capacity and towing capabilities, combined with a spacious cabin and modern technologies, make it an excellent option for commercial use or active recreation. One of the key advantages of the Maxus T90 EV on the Ukrainian market is its official support through the dealer network. Owners of this electric pickup can count on a warranty and full technical service, which includes access to spare parts, specialists, and charging stations. This is especially important for electric vehicles, as their maintenance requires specialized knowledge and infrastructure.
