Toyota Admitted to Using Defective and Faulty Parts

Takefumi Shiga, the head of Toyota’s research center, stated that “this decision required great courage.” It is about the use of “defective/faulty parts with minor wear and scratches on the exterior”…

At the same time, Toyota’s management claims that such parts do not affect the safety and performance of the car itself. More precisely, they will not affect. After all, it is about using defective and faulty parts on cars that are just starting to be produced, not those sold in showrooms and driving on roads.

The main reason for this step is to solve problems caused by the shortage of microchips and the rising cost of raw materials. This is necessary for the company to achieve the targeted production speed. The Japanese officially declared that the so-called “defective parts” work fine, but may differ in appearance, for instance in shape. So, if you take a square microchip, it might have a small dent. Previously, such parts were immediately disposed of. The new policy shows that Toyota’s requirements for parts have been reduced from “perfect” to “good enough,” writes TopGir referring to Gizchina.

Toyota guarantees that the safety and performance of the cars will remain top-notch, and customers will likely not even notice these defects. But the Japanese considered it necessary to inform their buyers about such a decision, which, once again, “required great courage.” Maybe we should “lure” them to our Verkhovna Rada and Cabinet? We’re definitely lacking such honest people…
