Dodge introduces the new Charger Daytona in sedan body
The new Charger Daytona sedan shares features with the coupe, including the front and rear design, roofline, and liftback. However, the five-door version offers more practicality despite having the same dimensions. The rear space provides 37.2 inches (945 mm) of legroom, and the trunk volume reaches 37.4 cubic feet (1059 liters).
The interior is equipped with a 16-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 multimedia system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Standard features include a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, a remote garage door opener, and seats with combined upholstery.
Additional options and technologies
The car offers a wide range of driver assistance systems, such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking. The Plus version includes LED headlights, a power trunk opener, wireless smartphone charging, and 64-color interior ambient lighting.
Additional options include a panoramic sunroof, an 18-speaker Alpine audio system, and Carbon & Suede or Blacktop packages with dark accents. For those seeking maximum performance, the Track Pack is available, featuring an upgraded Brembo braking system, adaptive suspension, and sport seats.
Specifications and availability
The Charger Daytona is equipped with a 100.5 kWh battery and two electric motors that together produce 630 hp (or 670 hp in PowerShot mode). Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph takes 3.3 seconds, and the range is 241 miles (388 km). Fast charging at 350 kW allows the battery to charge from 20% to 80% in 24 minutes.
By the end of 2025, the Charger Sixpack version with a 3.0-liter Hurricane gasoline engine producing up to 550 hp is expected to appear. Currently, Dodge is already accepting orders for electric models, but exact prices have not yet been announced.
Despite impressive performance figures, the limited range may be a significant drawback for some buyers. However, fast charging and an extensive list of options make the Charger Daytona an interesting choice in the electric vehicle segment.
