The off-road Bentley Turbo R station wagon was created in 1992 for the family of Sultan of Brunei Hassan Bolkiah, who has the world’s largest collection of 7000 cars. He ordered 11 of these cars at once, and in particular, the Sultan’s brother rode on this wagon.
The project was named Bentley Turbo R Val-d’Isere – after the French resort. The British studio Robert Jankel Design performed the tuning for Bentley. They took the Bentley Turbo R sedan as a base and changed the rear part. The car has a high ground clearance, so it can be called the grandfather of Bentley Bentayga.
A powerful audio system is installed in the trunk. The interior is decorated with yellow-blue leather, and the equipment includes climate control and electrically adjustable seats.
The Bentley Turbo R Val-d’Isere is equipped with a 6.75-liter V8 twin-turbo engine with 300 hp and a 4-speed automatic transmission. A complex all-wheel-drive transmission with a belt drive for the front wheels was specially developed for the car.
