In Germany, a 2400-horsepower supercar Elektron Quasar was presented: what makes it special (photo)

The German startup Elektron Motors has officially presented the electric hypercar Elektron Quasar, the development of which took about five years. The new model features a super-powerful four-motor powertrain and impressive dynamic characteristics. Production of the model will be limited to only 99 units, and the price of each car will be 2.2 million euros.

The project became the company’s debut production model and was created under the leadership of the brand’s founder, Argaman Arabul. The Quasar’s exterior is designed in the style of modern racing prototypes: the car features active aerodynamics, massive air intakes, and upward-opening doors.

The hypercar is based on an ultra-light carbon fiber monocoque. All body panels are also made of carbon fiber, which keeps the car’s weight at 1427 kg.

The powertrain consists of four electric motors with a combined output of 2413 hp and 2790 Nm of torque. Thanks to these figures, the electric car accelerates to 100 km/h in just 1.65 seconds.

Another feature is the aerodynamics. According to the manufacturer, at a speed of 300 km/h, the body generates up to 1000 kg of downforce, improving stability at high speeds.

Two traction battery options are available for the model, with capacities of 80 and 103 kWh. Depending on the version, the range is up to 480 or 602 km.

The electric car is built on an 800-volt architecture, which allows the battery to be charged to 85% in about 15 minutes.

The company claims the Quasar’s theoretical top speed exceeds 525 km/h. However, for production cars, the figure will be limited to 450 km/h. The equipment also includes an adaptive sports suspension and a carbon-ceramic braking system.
