Ukrainian Evacuated to Germany on Tavria and Now Sells It

A 2002 ZAZ-1102 Tavria is up for sale in Germany. This 20-year-old car endured a difficult journey of 2250 km. This was reported by Autobild.

On the Tavria, 71-year-old resident of Vinnytsia, Oleksandr Bily, evacuated to his daughter in Germany. He left on March 1st, after Vinnytsia was hit by missiles. He took only essentials and an unfinished model ship he had started building before the war.

Because of traffic jams at the Polish border, he had to take a detour through Romania and Hungary. The Ukrainian in the Tavria was stuck in a 120-kilometer traffic jam and slept in the car during curfew. On the journey, he lost the fuel cap but was able to replace it with a thermos lid.

Now Oleksandr Bily wants to sell the Tavria to a collector. The car’s mileage over 20 years is only 64,000 km. He bought the ZAZ-1102 new in 2002 for $2400. The car suited him as it was economical and inexpensive to maintain – costing less than the Audi 100 he bought in the ’90s.
