Despite its nearly 30-year-old age and rust, LuAZ-969M (also known as “Volyn” or “Volynyanka”) became the subject of a bidding war.
The auction participants actively competed for the LuAZ, and in the end, it was sold for seven and a half thousand dollars. To give a clearer perspective, in America, one can buy a Ford Mustang from 2007-2010 for such an amount.
It’s possible that an immigrant from Ukraine bought the car, but this is not certain. In any case, it is worth noting that Ukrainian ZAZs and LuAZs are quite highly valued in the USA.
