In Ukraine, the consequences of abnormal snowfalls in the central and eastern regions have not yet been eliminated, and it is already necessary to prepare for a new blow of the elements. This time, the western regions are under threat.
Ukravtodor warned of worsening weather conditions on December 27 in Volyn, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, and Chernivtsi regions. Drivers are strongly advised to refrain from long-distance trips by car.
Meanwhile, the roads are gradually being cleared of snow.
In particular, in the Cherkasy region, the movement restrictions have been lifted on the section of the Boryspil-Dnipro-Zaporizhia-Mariupol highway, and in the Dnipropetrovsk region – on the Kropyvnytskyi-Kryvyi Rih-Zaporizhia road.
The most difficult situation remains in the Poltava region. Starting from 14:00 on December 26, all traffic has been completely blocked on the highways, and 100 units of equipment are working on snow removal. A 20-kilometer traffic jam has formed on the M-03 Kyiv-Kharkiv road.
