Unique racing prototype Ford GT put up for auction

One of the prominent stages in Ford’s global racing history will participate in the Mecum auction. This Ford GT Competition Roadster GT/109 model participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race with Maurice Trintignant and Guy Ligier at the wheel in 1965.

The prototype being auctioned was built in March 1965 by Ford Advanced Vehicles in England. This car is one of 12 units built by the company between January 1964 and April 1965.
