Few people know that in the nineties, a limited batch of Mitsubishi Galant sedans was released, which were upgraded by the tuning company AMG. And this is not tinkering, but genuine and exclusive cars, to which specialists from the Mercedes’ in-house workshop indeed contributed their skills!

The Galant AMG run amounted to only 500 units, and one of such Mitsubishis is currently up for auction in Hong Kong. The initial price was $2,000, but as of the writing of this post, the price has risen to $11,000. And clearly, this isn’t the limit.
So, here is the Mitsubishi Galant AMG Type 1. Its production was set up in 19990, and the model itself was intended for the domestic Japanese market. Under the hood of the gallant AMG is a 4-cylinder engine 4G63 (not sure if that means anything to you, but let’s sound smart) with badges of the renowned German tuner, which increased the power of the regular small engine to 170 horsepower.

Given the class and weight of the car, such power was more than enough for the Galant: the specifications state that acceleration to 100 km/h for the Galant AMG is less than 8 seconds. Yes, it’s not the most outstanding indicator, but for this segment and those years, it’s quite decent.

Apart from the AMG logo under the hood, the exclusive Mitsubishi can be recognized by the badges on the trunk lid and fenders, as well as on the steering wheel.
And do you know the details about the Lotus Omega and EVO 500, made based on the regular Omega. Incidentally, such ones are present in Ukraine!
