The 2018 Mercedes-Maybach S650 Guard served Usmanov in Sardinia and did not leave the island. Journalists from the newspaper Corriere della Sera found out that Putin secretly visited the island several times for vacation and used this same car.
Putin’s car is equipped with a 6.0-liter V12 with 630 hp and is protected by the highest civilian standard VR10. This means it can withstand shots from a Kalashnikov rifle or a 7.62 mm caliber sniper rifle (SVD, etc.), as well as a grenade explosion.
The armor thickness of the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Guard is 18 mm, and the bulletproof glass is 100 mm. The tires can travel up to 30 km with a puncture. Notably, Putin still uses armored Mercedes cars, even though he now has an enormous Aurus limousine.
