In Kyiv, on the Boulevard of People’s Friendship, a Bentley Bentayga crossover was involved in a traffic accident. The driver showed signs of alcohol intoxication, and his license had already been revoked for drunk driving.
The incident was reported by the Kyiv Patrol Police on Facebook. The officers who arrived at the scene saw a Bentley Bentayga that had hit a tree. Notably, the driver was asleep at the wheel.
Witnesses reported that the car drove literally 10 meters in the yard and crashed into a tree. The driver was awakened but could not clearly explain what had happened and did not respond to requests to provide documents for the car.
The owner of the Bentley Bentayga was suspected of driving under the influence, but he refused to be tested and attempted to flee the scene of the accident. During the arrest, the driver resisted the police and even inflicted bodily injuries on a patrol officer. It turned out that the driver had previously been caught driving while intoxicated and the court had revoked his license.
Accordingly, the police have now issued protocols under Part 2, Article 130 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine (Repeated driving under the influence within a year) and Part 4, Article 126 (Driving a vehicle while deprived of this right by a court). In addition, protocols were drawn up under Article 124 (Committing an accident without victims) and Article 185 (Malicious disobedience to a lawful order of a police officer). Since the Bentley crossover had transit plates, it is possible that it was only recently purchased. The $300,000 car received comparatively minor damage in the accident.
