by A video has surfaced online that appears to show previously unseen Dodge Charger prototypes. One of them features a large inscription on the windshield referencing the SRT division. Dodge has previously confirmed that more powerful versions of the Charger will arrive this year.
New Charger prototypes spotted on video
Dodge has already announced that it is working on several hotter gasoline-powered Charger models, one of which will debut in a few weeks. A recently published video circulating online may be the first evidence of at least one of them.
The short clip, posted on the YouTube and Instagram channels of TK’s Garage, shows two different types of Charger prototypes parked on the grounds of Stellantis. They do not quite match any of the current showroom models.
Two prototypes that don’t look like production models
The first car, painted in metallic red, features a new type of front bumper with a different air intake compared to the current production R/T and Scat Pack Charger. It also lacks the transverse LED strip connecting the daytime running lights below the headlights. The flat roof profile suggests it may have a carbon fiber roof, like the BMW M3.
The second prototype (and there are at least two of them in the parking lot) has a standard front end but is covered in a multicolored motorsport-style wrap. Across the full width of its windshield, in large letters, it reads ‘Powered by SRT’. It can be assumed that these wrapped cars may be stunt vehicles for an upcoming Roadkill Nights show.
Both cars, the regular one and the liveried one, are gasoline-powered, not electric Charger Daytona, as evidenced by the wide ventilation slots in the front bumper and the shape of the bulging hood. Dodge has already confirmed that the more powerful Charger Sixpack will debut at Roadkill Nights in August. The company states it will be the most powerful Charger with the Hurricane engine, meaning it will produce more than the 550 hp (558 hp) offered by the current Scat Pack.
This could explain the appearance of the unwrapped prototype. The updated front bumper, larger wheels, and more aggressive look would be entirely logical for a top-tier model with an inline six-cylinder engine, designed to fill the gap between current cars and something even more extreme.
The return of the Hellcat
Yes, we also know something more extreme is in the works. Dodge is not hiding the return of the Hellcat, nor the fact that it is bringing a supercharged V8 Hemi engine back to the Charger lineup. Reports indicate that the flagship model will feature SRT branding, a dramatic Superbird-inspired rear wing, and over 700 hp (710 hp).
Unfortunately, the video only shows the spotted cars from the front, so there is no way to check other details. For now, the only thing that can be said with certainty is that these Chargers look more aggressive than anything currently on sale.
Whether we are seeing the future flagship Sixpack, an early Hellcat, or something else entirely, Dodge is clearly not slowing down in the revival of its muscle car. But will this excite Dodge fans who cannot afford the upcoming flagship Charger Hellcat, or would they, as TK’s Garage suggests, prefer to have a Hemi V8, even if it were less powerful than the Hurricane Six?

It is still unknown whether these prototypes will see production in this form, but the very fact of their appearance indicates the active work of Dodge engineers to create truly powerful versions of the legendary muscle car. The choice between the modern turbocharged Hurricane engine and the classic atmospheric Hemi V8 is becoming increasingly significant for fans, and the company seems to be trying to satisfy both groups of buyers by offering different levels of power and character. All that remains is to wait for the official presentation to find out exactly what surprises Dodge has in store for muscle car enthusiasts.
