In the National Police, they spoke about the operation of auto-fixation cameras during the war

Auto-fixation cameras in Ukraine continue to operate even during martial law. Many motorists thought they were turned off, but the Patrol Police made it clear that war is not a reason to exceed speed limits.

The first deputy head of the Patrol Police Department, Oleksiy Beloshytsky, explained that automatic photo-fixation cameras are working, but during the war, there may be a delay with the so-called ‘letters of happiness’ to violators. However, the law gives 60 days to issue a decree, so some violations will be processed later.

The Patrol Police also remind drivers that traffic rules have not been canceled during the war.

“We are returning to controlling compliance with traffic rules. And even to heightened control. Cameras record violations, but the issuance of decrees may take up to 60 days. There are accidents with casualties and fatalities that we register, and they are related to disregard for traffic rules. Many, during the martial law regime, somehow decided that traffic rules do not apply and they can drive as they please. In reality, this is not the case. We will hold people accountable and take a firm stance,” emphasized Oleksiy Beloshytsky.
