In Russia, a Competitor to Tesla Was Made from an Old Moskvich

The Russian car is proudly called a competitor to Tesla and an electric supercar. According to the developers, its nominal power is 299 hp, and the peak power is 680 hp.

The lithium-ion battery CV-1 allegedly provides 90 kW∙h with a weight of only 50 kg. However, the range with such capacity is not large—350 km. The same Tesla Model S with a 90 kWh battery can travel up to 528 km without recharging and is heavier.

Representatives of Kalashnikov are also proud of the innovative power management system with a current of up to 2000 A.

However, visually the electric car looks like an ordinary Izh Kombi after some homemade tuning. The car is lowered lowered, got new optics and white wheels.

It’s interesting that although the electric car was named a competitor to Tesla, they do not plan to produce it. It is said to be just a prototype, so it has every chance of repeating the fate of the Yo-mobile.
