As reported by the leader of “AutoEuroPower” Oleh Yaroshevych, the first such case was noted already on August 22 near Kropyvnytskyi. The police stopped a non-customs cleared Opel Astra at the “Aleksandrivka” post (Kyiv-Znamyanka highway) and issued the driver a minimum fine of 8500 hryvnias. In total, about a dozen cars with Euro plates were stopped near Kropyvnytskyi on the first day of the new rules. Previously, many predicted that the National Police would not be able to fine “Euro cars” due to the lack of access to the State Customs Service databases.

However, the new head of customs Maksym Nefyodov announced that the police now have such access.
