In Ukraine, a Forgotten Car from the Perestroika Era Was Discovered (Photo)

A very rare GAZ-3105 Volga has been put up for sale in Crimea. The little-known executive sedan is priced at 27,500 dollars.

The GAZ-3105 began its design during the perestroika era as a replacement for the Chaika. At that time, the Communist Party was fighting against privileges, and it was decided that the new model should be more compact and less luxurious.

Initially, they planned to manually assemble 250 cars per year, but the collapse of the USSR forced them to revise their plans. GAZ began to face financial problems, while both the Mercedes S600 and BMW 7 Series appeared on the market. In general, the new Volga turned out to be unnecessary for anyone, and only 55 GAZ-3105s were produced.

Although for a Soviet development, the car is quite interesting. It was equipped with a 3.4-liter 170-horsepower V8, a 5-speed manual transmission, and permanent all-wheel drive, like Audi (by the way, the car itself closely resembles the Audi 100 cigar).

The Volga GAZ-3105 is also equipped with ABS, power windows, air conditioning, electric seats, and heated seats. The interior is finished with velour and wood.

This particular car was released in 1996. The current owner has been driving it for 13 years, and the Volga’s mileage is only 46,000 km.
