Two new Nokian Tyres winter tires were introduced in Ukraine: the friction Nokian WR Snowproof and the studded Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT3. They are more adapted to modern driving conditions.
Global climate change has also impacted the tire industry. While previously, the temperature throughout the year was quite predictable, the last few years have seen an increased likelihood of significant temperature fluctuations and anomalies. The danger for drivers lies in the fact that the weather can deteriorate throughout the day, with frost replaced by rain and snow, and a temperature rise leading to snowy slush and icy patches on the road.
Therefore, the new generation winter tires must ensure safety and manageability regardless of the weather conditions. The new Nokian Tyres models meet these requirements.
Nokian WR Snowproof
The new Nokian WR Snowproof offers a modern level of safety for everyday driving. Its main feature is the Alpine Sense Grip concept, which allows the tire to quickly adapt to unpredictable winter weather changes and perform well across a wide temperature range. The optimized tread design effectively removes snow and slush from the contact patch, ensuring excellent grip on both deep snow and wet roads.
Due to the specific tread pattern and the high silica content in the rubber compound, the Nokian WR Snowproof has low rolling resistance, providing significant fuel savings and reducing harmful emissions.
Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT3
The studded Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT3 is designed for powerful SUVs and pickups. It ensures driver safety when operating under complex winter conditions, on icy roads, and snowy areas.
For this tire, Nokian Tyres developed the world’s first stainless steel studs. The Arctic Stud concept presents a completely new stud shape and shell material, extending the tire life under highly loaded winter conditions.
The stainless steel studs feature high corrosion resistance, significantly extending the tire lifespan on salt-treated roads. They also ensure a high level of grip and tire control. Thanks to the new aggressive tread pattern and special laminate design in the new Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT3 tire, handling and grip on snow and ice are significantly improved. The new winter tires also provide more reliable grip on wet and slushy roads. Using super strong aramid fibers in the sidewall construction makes the tire more resistant to damage and cuts.
