Assembly of two Kia models starts in Ukraine

Zaporozhye Automobile Plant is expanding its range of products. Already in February, two Kia models will start rolling off the assembly line.

The sensational news was announced on the Kia Ukraine Facebook page. It concerns the updated Kia Rio sedan and the high-passability Rio X hatchback. The online presentation of the models will take place on February 2.

Both Kia cars will be equipped with gasoline engines of 1.4 L (100 hp) and 1.6 L (123 hp), as well as 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.

We suspect that the car kits will be brought to ZAZ from Russia – that’s where the Kia Rio and Rio X are produced. As is known, the new Renault Arkana of ZAZ assembly also has Russian origins, and in Zaporozhye, the production of Lada models has been established. In total, 816 passenger cars were assembled at the plant in 2020.
