In Ukraine, car registration resumed, but not for all

The Ministry of Internal Affairs service centers have resumed operations under martial law conditions. It is now possible to register a car, but there are nuances.

Firstly, not all service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are operational, only those in regions where active hostilities are not taking place. Their list has already been published. They will operate from 9:00 to 18:00, although their work schedule may change due to curfew.

Car registration in Ukraine is being conducted, but only new cars from dealerships can be registered. Used cars are not being registered yet – they can be registered within 90 days after the end of martial law.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs service centers have also resumed providing other services. First and foremost, this includes the replacement of expired driver’s licenses, with priority given to those mobilized and those allowed to travel abroad.

It is also possible to obtain a duplicate of the vehicle registration certificate. In addition, driving tests are being conducted, but only for heavy vehicle categories C and CE. However, certificates of no criminal record are not being issued in Ukraine for the time being.
