A unique 1971 ZAZ-966 electric car is up for sale in Kremenchuk. The old “Zaporozhets” has been transformed into a real sports car. Focus writes about it here.

Instead of the standard 1.2-liter gasoline four-cylinder engine, the ZAZ-966 received a small Italian Ansaldo electric motor with 240 hp. The car was lightened and now weighs only 750 kg, giving it dynamics comparable to expensive sports coupes. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 3.7 seconds.

The electric car’s range is 400 km. The Zaporozhets tuning also includes a complete suspension and brake replacement. A regenerative braking system is also provided.

It looks like a regular “Zaporozhets,” with the electric car only distinguished by its modern LED optics in the headlights. A sport driver’s seat is installed inside.

The unique ZAZ-966 electric car is priced at $25,000. The vehicle’s mileage since its release is 101,000 km, but the electric motor has only just undergone a break-in after installation.
