During a pre-trial investigation, detectives of the BEB revealed a scheme for illegal importation of cars into Ukraine. For this purpose, fake compliance certificates for cars and expert opinions were forged.
The Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II sedan was seized and a court order from the Solomiansky District Court of Kyiv placed an arrest on the car. The BEB Territorial Directorate in Kyiv Oblast is conducting a pre-trial investigation under Article 201-4, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (smuggling of excisable goods). It is important to note that the Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II is a rather rare model, as only 2135 sedans were produced from 1975 to 1980. However, it is relatively affordable, costing between 25,000 and 50,000 dollars.
The Silver Wraith II is an extended version of the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow sedan with a more luxurious leather interior and a separate air conditioner for rear passengers. The car is equipped with a 6.75-liter 190-horsepower V8 engine and a 3-speed automatic transmission.
