You can buy a Niva in Japan for 2.98 million yen – that’s 26 thousand dollars. This means that, once the SUVs were brought from Vladivostok, they tripled in price. For comparison, this is more than the top Suzuki Jimny in Japan and at the level of the Toyota RAV4.
We are not talking about some tuned car – it is an absolutely standard Lada Niva Legend on steel wheels. The configuration, however, is not the most basic – ABS, electric windows, 2 airbags, air conditioning, seat heating.
The new Niva in Japan will be presented under the name VLADA Sedan. Dealer Vitaly Vergenko is optimistic – he wants to sell 1,000 cars over four years.
By the way, the UAZ Bukhanka is already being sold in Japan, and it’s even more expensive – about 40 thousand dollars. And there seems to be no queues for it.
