by The Verkhovna Rada finally made concessions to supporters of cars with Euro numbers. The parliament eventually adopted Nina Yuzhanina’s draft bills as a basis.
Law project №8487 was supported by 260 deputies. It will allow the customs clearance of cars with Euro-4 standards and lower. A new formula for calculating the excise duty during customs clearance is also introduced. Its base rate will be 50 euros for gasoline engines and 75 for diesel ones.
This rate will then be multiplied by the car’s age coefficient (number of years) and engine volume (in liters). The cost of excise duty for gasoline cars can be seen in the table.
Additionally, 256 parliamentarians voted for draft law №8488. It is not as pleasant – it introduces increased fines for customs violations. For example, a delay in car transit for 20-30 days faces a fine of 85,000 hryvnias, and for 30 days or more – 170,000.
Moreover, the person who brought a Euro-numbered car to Ukraine will not be able to transfer it to other citizens or use it for entrepreneurial activities. In these cases, the fine will be 34,000 hryvnias.
