Owners of Cars with European License Plates Blocked the Center of Kyiv

In Kyiv, supporters of untaxed cars with European license plates are once again holding a protest. The protesters are demanding the adoption of laws that would reduce the cost of car customs clearance in Ukraine.

The protest began at 6 AM. Untaxed cars with foreign registration lined up at European Square and Hrushevskoho Street. Traffic is completely blocked there, causing massive traffic jams in central Kyiv.

The protest organizers, the public organization “Auto Euro Power,” claim that the protest is indefinite. According to them, cars with European license plates will block the government district until their owners are heard. Activists claim that 10,000 cars are participating in the protest.

Let us recall, numerous bills have been registered in the Verkhovna Rada to solve the problem of cars with foreign license plates. Recently, a solution was also proposed by the head of the parliamentary committee on tax and customs policy, Nina Yuzhanina. However, so far, the Verkhovna Rada has not considered any of the bills.
