Car rallies of supercars are already becoming common even in Ukraine. But it’s one thing to go on a long journey in a stock Ferrari or Lamborghini, and quite another to use a super powerful 3500-horsepower dragster for this.
It was in such a car that its creator, Tom Bailey, traveled over 1600 km – he decided to drive to several stages of the drag racing championship on his own.
The dragster is based on the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro coupe, but the car has been thoroughly modified. Under the hood now hides a massive Chevrolet V8 Brodix, bored out to 10 liters.
It is complemented by two turbines and Holley EFI electronic fuel injection.
The maximum 3500 hp is achieved on racing fuel. The best result of the Chevrolet Camaro in drag racing is ¼ mile in 6.35 seconds and a speed of 362 km/h at the finish. A brake parachute is available for rapid stopping.
On public roads, of course, the parachute is not used, and the power on ordinary gasoline is limited to 1500 hp.
Nevertheless, controlling such a beast is very difficult, especially since the interior is very Spartan. But the creator of the dragster jokes: “The car drives like a Civic.”
