Old Mercedes S-Class turned into a crazy hot rod

This 1968 Mercedes-Benz 280 SEL W108 has a lot to surprise. In Australia, the old-timer was seriously modified, and it can burn rubber well and drift.

Tuning of the Mercedes S-Class began with engine replacement. The old 4.5-liter V8 was replaced by a 4.0-liter turbo engine from the modern Mercedes-AMG C63. The Australians further tinkered with it and increased its power to 522 hp.

Moreover, the C63 also became the donor for the interior, so now the Mercedes W108 has a modern steering wheel, dashboard, and seats. However, the sedan’s appearance has barely changed – except for the 19-inch alloy wheels that reveal the beast.
