Review of Lexus LX. Why it is so loved here

Lexus LX is an iconic vehicle for Ukraine. This luxury SUV looks solid and impresses with its interior space. It is like a small apartment on wheels, comfortably accommodating five adults, though it can hold 7 people. The interior is not overly ornate, but overall it feels cozy and luxurious, with the latest generation boasting a multitude of screens and touch panels. There are more premium attributes here than in the contemporary Toyota Land Cruiser 200.

The selection of engines for the Lexus LX is, to put it mildly, limited. The range of petrol engines consists of a 5.7-liter V8 with 367 hp. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 8.6 seconds. The drive is all-wheel. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic.

There is also a diesel modification, the Lexus LX 450d, paired with a 6-speed automatic. It features a limited-slip center differential and off-road driving systems. The new LX offers maximum comfort for both the driver and passengers. The “captain” of this “ship” benefits from automatic high beams, a large seat with electric adjustment, adaptive cruise control, and a suspension system with adjustable stiffness and clearance. It offers three cameras (front, side, and rear) and a colored touchscreen display.

Rear passengers have an individual climate control, curtains, and, if desired, televisions.

By default, the Lexus LX is equipped with a dozen airbags and curtains. The front ones are dual-stage. There are also airbags for the driver’s and front passenger’s knees. According to crash test results from various institutions, the Lexus LX is considered one of the most well-protected vehicles, not only in its class.

This is due not only to the abundance of active and passive safety systems but also to its mass (almost 3 tons). There are countless electronic assistants – from ABS to systems warning of collisions.

It is not just the size and power that make the LX popular in Ukraine. Key features of this Lexus include its inherent ability to comfortably transport passengers, regardless of road conditions. It is enough to know that the LX570/450d has a motion adaptation system for specific surfaces, which, as is known, are very diverse in our country.

There is an extensive arsenal of systems for off-road and difficult driving conditions. However, most customers know of them only from the model description, not from personal experience.

An almost 6-liter engine, by definition, cannot be economical. 20 liters in the city is an optimistic consumption. Realistically, it is about 22-23 liters.

On the highway, with leisurely, unhurried driving, it consumes 13-14 liters. If you rush and try to accelerate to the maximum 220 km/h, it is unlikely to be less than 30 l/100 km. Although, there is an ECO mode, allowing you to reduce consumption by a few milliliters. However, this is unlikely to greatly interest or concern LX570 buyers. But for those who care, there is a more economical diesel option, which consumes about 10-15 liters, depending on the driving style.

It is better to refuel with quality fuel, otherwise, the direct way is to seek injector repairs on the site. Lexus LX is a land cruiser. It can accelerate quite quickly and “sail” on any road. It is definitely not considered economical. But after driving this car, it is unlikely you will want to buy another.

Maybe just the next LX…
