The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

Over the last three decades, the world has seen many interesting models. Just the McLaren F1 and Lamborghini Diablo are worth mentioning! However, there are plenty of unsuccessful cars as well. Here are the most terrible cars of the past 30 years. Some of them are unimpressive on their own, while others have become notorious for their unreliability or lack of safety.

Pontiac Grand Am

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

About 15 years ago, these sedans were common, even in Ukraine. The American car was well-equipped but very heavy and slow.

Honda Insight

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

The Honda hybrid was designed as a competitor to the Prius, and the two models even look similar (and neither is particularly attractive). The hybrid system in the Honda Insight was underpowered and not very economical.

Chevrolet Aveo

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

The Aveo is popular here, although it impressed no one in the West.

It has a cheap interior and a weak engine.

Subaru SVX

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

The Subaru coupe is notable for its interesting design, but the car was slow, expensive, and had a less than stellar automatic transmission.

GM EV-1

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

The GM electric car appeared 15 years before Tesla and did not impress. Its range was 130 km, and the high manufacturing cost of the car forced it to be leased, as no one wanted to buy it. In general, the EV-1 long deterred Americans from wanting to buy an electric car.

Ford Probe

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

The Ford Probe has a bright design with pop-up headlights but weak engines and less than stellar handling.

Toyota Yaris

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

The first Toyota Yaris was slow, poorly handling, and had terrible interior plastic.

Land Rover Discovery

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

The first Discovery offered fantastic off-road capability but was plagued by constant electronic glitches.

Chevrolet SSR

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

A mix of pickup, coupe-cabriolet, and sports car – to put it mildly, it’s not for everyone. Although, the car is very original.

Dodge Caliber

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

The Caliber looks like an SUV but was only front-wheel drive. It has horrible Chinese plastic in the interior and fuel-guzzling engines.

Jaguar S-Type

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

The Jaguar sedan stands out with its retro design, but its reliability leaves much to be desired.

Smart Fortwo

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

The Smart is an excellent city car, but it has unreliable engines with a short lifespan, a modest trunk, and a high price tag.

Dodge Journey/Fiat Freemont

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

The American-Italian crossover does not please with reliability, and the interior is cheap.

Moreover, the 2.4-liter gasoline engine is weak for a seven-seater car, and the CVT has a tendency to break down.

Chevrolet Lumina APV

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

A star of the ’90s with a very unusual design but a shabby interior and poor handling.

Pontiac Aztek

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

What’s to say? Just look at the photo. It’s unlikely that there have been any cars with a more terrible design in the past 30 years.

SsangYong Rodius

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

Slightly better looking than the Aztek, but not an ideal beauty, to put it mildly. Even Jeremy Clarkson once made fun of it.

Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

The Chrysler PT Cruiser itself is not exactly a model of reliability, and the convertible has a strange design. Additionally, the engines are not economical.

Daewoo Nubira

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

The older sister of the Lanos looks specific, is unreliable, and has a cheap interior.

Jeep Compass

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

The first Compass is the sibling of the Dodge Caliber with an equally dismal interior, fuel-guzzling engine, and a problematic CVT. And the design – not great.

Kia Opirus

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

The design of the Kia Opirus is a mix of the Jaguar S-Type and Mercedes E-Class. The business-class sedan turned out to be fuel-thirsty, and its build quality was lacking.

Chrysler Sebring

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

The Sebring has an unsuccessful retro design, a cheap interior, and not very economical engines.

Dacia Nova/SuperNova/Solenza

The Most Unsuccessful Cars of the Past 30 Years

The Romanian budget liftback was not known for its reliability and was extremely budget-friendly. Need a more reliable taxi – StarTaxi taxi
