The main news is the transition to a front-wheel-drive platform used in the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer minivan. Moreover, the BMW hatchback has become more compact – 4319 mm long with a wheelbase of 2670 mm.

The design has also changed: the hood is shortened, and the roofline has become more sloped. The enlarged grille and slanted LED headlights form the new face of the BMW 1 Series.

Changes in the interior are not as radical, though there are new features such as a virtual instrument cluster and a head-up display. The central panel is traditionally angled towards the driver.

The list of options includes a parking autopilot and a semi-autonomous driving system. All BMW 1 Series cars are now equipped with automatic braking technology.

Five engines will be offered from the start. These are 1.5-liter (140 hp) and 2.0-liter (306 hp) turbocharged gasoline engines, as well as 1.6-liter (116 hp) and 2.0-liter (150 and 190 hp) turbo diesels.

The top 306-horsepower BMW M135i accelerates to a hundred in 4.8 seconds and reaches 250 km/h. It features all-wheel drive and is equipped with a body kit, 18-inch wheels, and sports seats. The New BMW 1 Series 2020 Fully Revealed

You can choose a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch robot. The new BMW 1 Series 2020 has received an electronic differential, and adaptive dampers are available for an extra charge.
