A new cemetery of old cars has appeared in the Polish settlement of Grebenne. It would seem that there’s nothing special about it, but the dump formed on the border with Ukraine, and all of the cars were supposed to be brought in without customs clearance.
However, due to breakdowns, these cars with Euro plates couldn’t reach the border, so they were simply left to rot. Transporters do not fuss over the cars and abandon them right on the road even in the case of the slightest malfunction.
Interestingly, the Polish police patrol the border area and search for smugglers but do not pay attention to the dozens of abandoned cars. By the way, some of the cars are already quietly being taken apart for spare parts.
The majority of the abandoned cars on plates are Germans from the 90s and 2000s (Audi, BMW, Volkswagen). This is not surprising: these brands are popular among the owners of cars with foreign registration. You can also notice Ford and Peugeot in the photos.
