New electric BMW M3 showcases massive wings of the production version

BMW M3 EV in a new look

For the first time, the prototype of the electric BMW M3 was spotted with minimal camouflage. Unlike previous test samples, this model features solid wings instead of temporary overlays. The car is expected to receive a four-motor electric system with over 700 horsepower and torque vectoring functionality.

The new M3 will be available in both electric and conventional ICE versions. The electric model is distinguished by a shorter wheelbase between the front doors and wheels, a sloping windshield, and a distinctive slant of the rear door’s central pillar. The rear wings are significantly wider than those of the standard i330, giving the car a more aggressive appearance.

Technical features

The prototype’s interior confirms the presence of a large iDrive touchscreen and a heads-up display on the windshield. The production version is not expected to launch earlier than in a year and a half, so some details, such as bumper and lighting design, remain hidden.

The electric M3 will feature up to four motors, while the ICE version will have a hybrid six-cylinder powertrain. This indicates that BMW continues to develop both directions, not abandoning traditional technologies in favor of a fully electric future.

Although the car is not yet ready for mass production, it is already clear that it will retain the sporty character of the M-series while combining it with modern electric technologies. A wider track and low stance emphasize dynamic qualities, and the powerful powertrain promises high performance.
