Toyota’s global sales exceed all forecasts

Record Toyota sales in April

Japanese automaker Toyota continues to demonstrate high growth rates despite the challenging situation in the automotive industry. In April, the company sold nearly 877,000 vehicles, including Lexus models, setting a record for this month.

Regional results

In North America, sales increased to 270,365 units, with the U.S. seeing a 10% rise. However, Canada and Mexico experienced a slight decline. In Latin America, performance improved by 8.1%, and in Europe, it grew by 8.4%, although the UK and France saw a drop.

In its report, Toyota attributed the success in North America to “high demand and a rush by buyers ahead of tariff implementation.”

The Asian market showed significant growth—12.9%, while in China, sales soared by 20.8% due to government subsidies. Meanwhile, in Japan, the number of vehicles sold increased by 11.8%, and in Africa, by 25.4%. Only Oceania saw a slight decline.

Most Toyota vehicles are produced outside Japan. In April, international plants manufactured 814,787 cars, which is 7.8% more than last year. At the same time, production in Japan itself grew by 6.9%.

These results indicate that Toyota has successfully adapted to global economic challenges. The figures in China are particularly impressive, where government support contributed to significant growth. At the same time, declines in certain regions are likely tied to local economic factors. Against the backdrop of overall instability in the global automotive industry, these results look quite optimistic.
