General Motors Engine Problems: Lawsuit Over Defective V8s
General Motors is facing a class-action lawsuit following the announcement of a massive vehicle recall. The recall affects popular models from 2021-2024:
Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado, Tahoe and Suburban, as well as GMC Sierra 1500 and Yukon
Stories from Affected Owners
Two of the plaintiffs shared their experiences. Jason Rittereiser purchased a GMC Sierra 1500 in August 2022 and accuses GM of withholding information. Mitchell Fagundes bought a Cadillac in December 2022, and within a month, his vehicle’s engine completely failed during a trip, requiring replacement.
According to documents, General Motors has known about the issue since at least March 2023. A warning was posted on GM-Techlink for dealers regarding potential engine problems, including characteristic knocking and other unusual sounds that may indicate serious malfunctions.
This situation is particularly concerning given the popularity of the affected models among American consumers. Drivers rely on the reliability of such vehicles, especially for long trips or hauling cargo. Many owners are now worried not only about potential breakdowns but also about the loss of their vehicles’ market value due to the publicity of this case.
