German tuned Corvette C1 with modern technology
Although most Corvette restomods are created in the USA, Europe also has its masters. The German company Pogea Racing, through its POGEAclassics division, has presented an impressive project that combines classic design with modern technology.
During work on this C1, it was discovered that the original body was assembled from parts from 1958 and 1959. The team completely reworked the car, installing a new tubular chassis developed together with SRIII Motorsports. An adjustable QA1 suspension was also added and the engine was replaced.
Updated technical part
The factory powertrain was replaced with a modern 6.2-liter V8, which works in tandem with a 4L65E automatic transmission. A stainless steel exhaust system gave the car a richer sound.
The braking system was also modernized – components from the Corvette C4, C5 and C6 were used. 19-inch wheels paired with new Michelin tires complete the exterior look.
The car’s exterior is painted in a combination of Ferrari Rosso Corsa and Audi Ibis White, and the chrome elements have been restored. The interior is trimmed with Lamborghini red leather and Rolls-Royce white leather, a modern audio system and digital instruments have been added.
The company does not disclose the cost of this project but is already working on two new Corvette C1s. If this example is any indication, the next models are worth paying attention to.
This project demonstrates how classic cars can be given new life thanks to modern technology. The use of parts from different generations of Corvette and collaboration with engineers made it possible to create a unique car that combines history and innovation.
