Renault has introduced the new Boreal crossover
Renault continues to expand its presence in global markets by introducing the Boreal model, which will be available in over 70 countries outside of Europe. However, for European buyers, this car will not be a novelty, as it is a redesigned version of the Dacia Bigster.
Externally, the Boreal features an original front end with a body-colored radiator grille, LED headlights, and the Nouvel’R logo. Among the design features are aluminum protectors, a contrasting black roof, and 19-inch alloy wheels.
Technical Features
The rear of the car has been redesigned – it now looks more stylish thanks to narrow lights and dynamic lines. The crossover’s length is 179.4 inches (4,556 mm), and the wheelbase is 106.4 inches (2,702 mm).
The Boreal’s interior has received an updated dashboard, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, and a multimedia system with Google support. Additional options include laser engraving, 48-color ambient lighting, and a spacious trunk with a volume of up to 1,770 liters.
“The Boreal offers up to 24 driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control and a lane-keeping function”
Engines and Production
At the start of sales, the Boreal will be equipped with a turbocharged 1.3-liter engine paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Power output varies from 136 to 161 hp depending on the market. Production will begin in Brazil and Turkey, with the first deliveries expected by the end of this year.
The launch of the Boreal is part of Renault’s strategy to strengthen its position in developing markets. The company is betting on the model’s versatility and its adaptation to different regional conditions, which could ensure its success on a global scale.
