You Are Not the Only One Who Thinks the Ferrari Amalfi Resembles a Toyota

The New Ferrari Amalfi Has Sparked Unexpected Comparisons

Ferrari has introduced the new Amalfi model, which has become the successor to the Roma. The car features the classic proportions of a grand tourer and a powerful twin-turbo V8 engine. However, after the images were published, many noticed a design resemblance to the Toyota Prius.

Interestingly, digital artist Theophilus Chin reimagined the Ferrari Amalfi’s design by creating a concept for a future Toyota Supra. He changed only some details, such as the headlights and grille, but the overall outlines remained almost untouched. Even the body color, Giallo Modena (yellow), fit well into Toyota’s visual style.

Design Similarity: Coincidence or Pattern?

Comparisons between Ferrari and Toyota designs are not new. For example, the front end of the Ferrari SF90, introduced in 2019, shares similarities with Toyota’s “hammerhead” design. This has sparked discussions about the possible influence of the Japanese brand on Italian designers.

Some social media users have also noticed the Amalfi’s resemblance to the Honda Integra. However, despite some shared elements, the overall proportions of the Ferrari remain unique. The question of whether this situation will influence future models of both brands remains open.

Interestingly, similar discussions about design similarities between premium and mass-market brands are becoming more frequent. Perhaps this indicates certain common trends in automotive design, where the aesthetics of elite cars sometimes echo more accessible models. Ferrari traditionally remains a style leader, but this case shows that even such brands can unintentionally intersect with other manufacturers.
