New Special Track Version of Genesis G70 Could Compete with BMW M3 CS

Genesis has introduced a special version of the G70 model with modifications for the race track.

The car received a unique body kit with a massive rear wing and a sporty body livery.

The sedan inherited the updated suspension from the G70 Track Taxi Nordschleife racing version.

This model competes with the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, but so far has not had a powerful modification akin to the M- or AMG-versions of its competitors. The Magma division could change this situation, but for now, Genesis has shown a track version of the G70, inspired by the Nürburgring.

The G70 Track Day Special concept is a continuation of the Track Taxi idea, which has been offering rides on the legendary track since last year. However, the new version received an even more aggressive design thanks to a special body kit.

The main feature of the concept is a massive swan-neck rear wing mounted on the trunk. The front end is equipped with a new bumper with larger air intakes, a splitter, and canards. Yellowish LED headlights add a racing character to the exterior.

Unlike the orange Track Taxi, this version has a matte black body with bright orange graphic elements, including G70 and Nordschleife lettering. Other features include a vented hood, tow hooks, and darkened rear lights.

The concept inherited the modified chassis from the Track Taxi Nordschleife, including a lowered suspension specially tuned for the race track and 19-inch alloy wheels with high-performance tires.

The manufacturer did not specify an increase in power compared to the Track Taxi. The latter is equipped with a twin-turbo 3.3-liter V6 from the most powerful production version, producing 368 hp (274 kW) and 510 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Unfortunately for sports sedan fans, this concept is created as a unique specimen and is not planned for series production. The sportiest version of the G70 will debut in 2025, after which it will go on a tour of Genesis dealer centers.

The Genesis G70 model was first introduced in 2017, and despite a 2020 update, it is approaching the end of its life cycle. According to the latest data, the brand has abandoned a hybrid version, which means a completely new model could appear in the future.
