Preparing for the Exhibition
Honda has announced its exhibits for the Japan Mobility Show 2025, which will begin on October 29. The teaser image shows nine cars under covers, including both completely new models and those already available for purchase. The key novelties will be another representative of the Honda 0 series and a compact electric vehicle.
Updated Plans
The company revealed additional details about five future production cars, two of which are new electric vehicles making their world debut. Honda is preparing for active participation in the exhibition, where the main premiere will be a new model from the 0 series. It will appear alongside the Saloon and SUV prototypes, whose production launch is scheduled for 2026. As the company noted, this model is designed to “make the value of the Honda 0 series more accessible to the general public”.
Electric Models
Although many hoped for an electric sports car, the silhouettes in the teaser point to another crossover or SUV. Previously, Honda announced an electric vehicle development strategy, including a large three-row SUV with a debut in 2027, which has reportedly been delayed, as well as compact SUVs for 2028 and 2029.
Other Electrified Products
Another officially confirmed debut will be a “compact electric vehicle prototype” that combines “exceptional convenience and driving pleasure”. According to Honda, the prototype is already undergoing road tests in countries with high demand for compact EVs, including Japan, the UK, and Asian nations. This suggests it might be the camouflaged Super EV prototype shown at this year’s Goodwood Festival.
Models for the Japanese Market
This unnamed model will be presented alongside the Honda N-One e: electric kei car, recently released for the Japanese market. At a separate Mugen stand, a custom version of the N-One e: with additional accessories will likely be shown. Honda will also exhibit the CR-V e:HEV prototype, planned for launch in Japan, along with the hydrogen-powered CR-V e:FCEV. Furthermore, the exhibition will feature a fully electric Acura RSX prototype in a new color.
Return of the Prelude
The revived Honda Prelude will also be present in its final production version, replicating the 2023 prototype. The hybrid model is already on sale in Japan, causing a stir due to its premium price. A closer look at the teaser reveals two coupe silhouettes side by side, raising questions about a second model. While some hope for a sporty Prelude Type R version, it is more likely to be a standard model with different trim – an ON Limited Edition with a black roof, a modified version with an optional sports package, or a regular coupe in a different color.
Beyond Cars
Cars will not be the only exhibition attraction. Honda plans to show seven motorcycles, a range of power products, and even an aircraft. The central exhibits of the aviation theme will be a full-scale mockup of the HondaJet Elite II business jet cabin and a “sustainable rocket launcher”. Among the two-wheeled vehicles, the world premieres of an electric urban motorcycle concept and a prototype electric mountain bike intended for mass production are noteworthy. They will be accompanied by the CUV e: scooter, the Rebel 1100 S DCT motorcycle, and other models.
Exhibition Details
Press days for the Tokyo show will take place on October 29 and 30, while the public will be able to attend events from October 31 to November 9. Brand enthusiasts can also find details on the manufacturer’s special website dedicated to the exhibition.
Participants and guests of the event can expect not only a demonstration of technological achievements but also an introduction to future mobility trends, including the integration of environmentally friendly solutions into various types of transport. This is especially relevant in the context of growing competition in the electric and hybrid vehicle market, where Honda is trying to strengthen its presence through innovative approaches and expanding its model range.
