Possible Launch of BMW i4 Coupe
BMW is planning a large-scale update of its model range, which may include a two-door i4 coupe. This electric vehicle is likely to become the successor to the current 4 Series Coupe.
Key Points
Design and Features
Renderings created by Sugar Design show that the two-door version of the i4 will inherit the stylistic features of the Neue Klasse concept cars. The front end looks elongated and low, with sharp headlights and narrow grilles. Although the model will be exclusively electric, it’s hard not to imagine what kind of internal combustion engine could have been housed under the hood in the past.
Created by Sugar Design, these illustrations imagine a two-door i4 with design elements from recent BMW Neue Klasse concept cars, although it looks even more sophisticated.
The side profiles also look attractive, and the rear is adorned with slim LED lights.

Production Prospects
Information about the two-door i4 appeared last year, and it was reported that production could begin in the second half of 2028. However, these plans may change due to rapid market shifts. BMW may adjust its timelines or even strategy by the time the car goes on sale.
Market Challenges
The popularity of new electric vehicles in the US, a key market for BMW, has somewhat decreased. Furthermore, two-door models typically have a smaller audience even with internal combustion engines. Launching an electric coupe at the moment is more about brand image than market logic. Such a model could be created to showcase technologies rather than to generate significant profit.
The decision regarding NA2 production will depend on how the market situation develops in the coming years. BMW continues to invest in electrification, and the appearance of such a car could strengthen the brand’s position in the premium electric car segment. However, the model’s success will depend not only on design but also on technical characteristics such as range and charging speed, which are becoming decisive for modern consumers.
